Prawit insists all his assets were declared legally

Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan insisted on Sunday that that he had followed legal procedures in declaring his assets as well as in possessing assets.

He said he was ready to answer any investigation over a Bt1 million cheque, amid queries over whether he paid tax on it.
If his asset affairs were proved lawful, he said, he would file a defamation lawsuit against his accusers.
Pheu Thai party lawyer Ruangkrai Leekitwattana said on Sunday he would file a petition with the Revenue Department to look into its records to see whether tax was collected from Prawit’s cheques, in particular one for Bt1 million that Prawit reported to the National Anti-Corruption Commission in 2008.
He said he would submit the petition to the department tomorrow.
