Monkey burned on high-voltage power line

A hungry monkey suffered an electrical shock while looking for food in Chon Buri on Sunday morning.
Local residents alerted a foundation that the animal had fallen from a high-voltage power line in front of a village in Chon Buri’s Muang district. They reported that the monkey’s fur was burned off.
According to residents, several monkeys had traveled between four to five kilometres from a nearby mountain in search of food, which has become scarce over the summer.
The foundation found the monkey was seriously injured and rushed it for treatment at the Khoa Khiow Open Zoo.
