Suspended Spring Radio resumes broadcasts

The Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission allowed the Spring Radio FM98.5 news station to resume broadcast at noon on Monday.

Takorn Tantasith, secretary general of the NBTC Office, said he decided to allow the radio station to resume broadcasts sooner than expected after he met with two executives of the radio station, Patchara Sarapimpha and Kosol Songniem.
On April 12, the NBTC Office issued an order to suspend the radio station’s broadcasts from 00.01am on April 13 to midnight on Monday on the grounds that its broadcasts had content deemed a violation of national security and the peace and order of the country.
Takorn said he was pleased with the explanation of the two executives and warned them to be more prudent with what was aired in the future.
