Storm damages 80 houses in Nan

A thunderstorm damaged some 80 houses in a village in Nan province on Wednesday evening, officials said.
The storm, which lasted for about half an hour, hit Ban Song Kwae village in Tambon Sanien in Nan’s Muang district at 4.50pm, the deputy chief of Muang district, Kriengkrai Vej-anurak, said.
The storm also brought down power poles and caused a blackout for hours.
Residents of the damaged houses were evacuated to a school and the village hall, the deputy district chief added.
