Chana Songkram police probed after underage revellers found at nightclub

Thailand’s top policeman has ordered an investigation into Chana Songkram police after authorities raided a nightclub in their area of Bangkok and found many underage partygoers and drug users.
Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda, chief of the Royal Thai Police, n Saturday thanked all the agencies that participated in the raid, but warned that if was found the local police had not done their job properly, punishments would follow.
A team of officers from Provincial Administration Department and related agencies conducted the raid at the Zad Club on Friday night, discovering 59 customers who were younger than 18 and 66 drug users.
The officers also confiscated quantities of ketamine and drug-taking equipment.
City police chief Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn said an investigation committee had already been set up to find out if Chana Songkram police had neglected their duty.
