Men on black pickup open fires at checkpoint in Songkhla

Violence continued in the South as men riding in a black pickup opened fire at a checkpoint manned by combined forces in Songkhla’s Thepa district on Saturday night.
The nine officers at the checkpoint were unharmed, while an investigation of the scene on the Asian Highway between Songkhla and Pattani discovered many assaultrifle cartridges.
After the attack, the checkpoint resumed operations as usual on Sunday.
