Alleged Taiwanese call centre scammers busted

Eight Taiwanese nationals linked to an alleged call centre scam have been arrested at a rented house in Bangkok's Bang Na district, where police seized four computers and 11 cellphones.

Immigration Police Bureau chief Lt-General Natthorn Phrosunthorn told the media on Tuesday that in a joint operation with their Taiwanese counterparts, who had arrested the gang's alleged leader in Taiwan, Thai Immigration Police traced the alleged gang to the house in Bang Na that it had rented for Bt40,000 a month since January.
The eight suspects will have their visas revoked before being deported to Taiwan, Natthorn said.
