Police alleged the men were arrested while driving a trailer truck used to transport cement powder to deliver the drugs to Songkhla province.
Thanisorn Sornkla, 48, and Yossawat Watchrathitiladakorn, 33, allegedly told police they were each hired for Bt500,000 to transport the drugs from Chiang Mai's Fang district to a customer in Songkhla's Hat Yai district before the drugs were to have been distributed in the deep South, NSB commander Maj-General Thanai Apichartsenee told the press at the NSB's Drug Interdiction Division in Bangkok.
The bust stemmed from a tip-off by undercover police, who said a truck with a Saraburi licence plate would transport the drugs from Chiang Mai to Songkhla.
The drugs were found in a backpack hidden in the truck's tank.
Thanisorn and Yossawat have been charged with possessing drugs with the intent to sell them.
