‘Benz Racing’ cashing up for possible bail request

The lawyer representing motorbike star Akarakit “Benz Racing” Worarojcharoendet revealed on Monday that his client was gathering cash to apply for his bail release if his money-laundering case goes to trial.
The Narcotics Suppression Bureau officers earlier on Monday submitted the case report to public prosecutors, who will decide whether to indict him for laundering money on behalf of alleged Lao drug kingpin Xaysana Keopimpa, plus additional counts under the Measures for Suppression of Narcotic Offenders Act.
The seventh and last court-ordered detention period for Akarakit, who has been on bail since the initial detention period, expires next Monday.
Akarakit’s wife, actress Napapa “Patt” Tantrakul, has been charged with conspiracy to launder money in relation to funds that Akarakit transferred to her.
