Lawson 108 celebrates fourth anniversary with Bt2m giveaway campaign

Saha Lawson Co, the operator of the Lawson 108 convenience-store chain in Thailand, is celebrating its fourth anniversary with a big campaign called “Japan Lucky Every Day”, offering customers the chance to win prizes worth a total of more than Bt2 million.

The prizes include original Japanese patented Kumamon merchandise, 100 cash vouchers and 10 pairs of round-trip air tickets to Kumamoto, Japan, including a five-day, three-night getaway along with actress Khemanit “Pancake” Jamikorn.
The campaign runs from now until August 31 at all 88 Lawson 108 stores nationwide.
Vathit Chokwatana, vice president of Saha Pathanapibul, said: “It has already been four years since Lawson 108 stores opened for service in Thailand. Today, there are 88 Lawson 108 stores in 10 provinces, 70 of which are in Bangkok and the remaining 18 in different provinces.
“In addition to a wide variety of consumer products, Lawson 108 also offers bill-payment service covering more than 80 [organisations], accepts payment by credit card without minimum purchases or service charges, and provides top-ups for mobile phones, online games, etc.
“As we head into our fifth year and to give back [something] to our customers for their continuous support of Lawson 108, we have created the ‘Japan Lucky Every Day’ campaign, giving our customers a double chance to win prizes.
“The first chance is of winning genuine Japanese-licensed Kumamon button pins, pillows and bags. And the second chance is of winning a big prize of a five-day, three-night trip to Kumamon’s birthplace, Kumamoto prefecture, Japan.
“This prize is being sponsored by H.I.S. Tours Co, a renowned Japanese tour and travel agency that will take our lucky winners to a number of places such as Kumamoto Castle, the famous Uchida Sarayama Pottery in the city of Amakusa and a Shoyu [soy sauce] brewery.
“Furthermore, our honourable guest, Khemanit ‘Pancake’ Jamitkorn, will be travelling with us.” During this campaign Lawson 108 will be selling original products made from Kumamoto’s famous produce, such as purple potato and Manjiro pumpkin.
Koreaki Tamura, managing director of Saha Lawson Co, said: “The ‘Japan Lucky Every Day’ campaign is Lawson 108’s big event intended to give back to our customers to express our thanks and appreciation. The prizes given away are really special, with more than 111,000 pieces of Kumamon merchandise, 10 pairs of round-trip air tickets and a package tour to Kumamoto, Japan, and 100 cash vouchers valued at Bt500 for purchase at Lawson 108 stores.
“You can participate by simply purchasing at least one participating item, with minimum purchase of Bt70 in a single receipt. The three groups of products included in the campaign are Lawson 108 original products such as bento, sandwiches, fried food, oden, and bakery products ...
“Altogether, there are more than 521 participating items that give you the chance of instantly winning a Kumamon prize every day at any Lawson 108 store. The air tickets and Kumamoto package-tour prizes will be drawn at the end of the campaign.”
