SME Bank in Bt30m investment deal with Virgin F&B

The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Bank) on Monday signed a joint-venture investment worth Bt30 million with Virgin F&B, producer and distributor of the Thai dessert, kanom thong moun.

The company’s dessert, the leading OTOP (One Tambon One Product) offering from Kanchanaburi province, is popular domestically as well as being exported to 10 countries.
It is also sold via King Power’s duty-free outlets.
SME Bank president Mongkon Leelatham said Virgin F&B now planned to expand its production capacity for kanom thong moun, and to install a production line for dried fruit and fruit ice-cream.
The business also shows good growth potential, as a result of which the bank has decided to invest in the company for the long term, he added.
