The woman told police that she was returning home from visiting a relative in Ayutthaya when the accident occurred.
She said she accidentally hit a concrete barrier while she was making a U-turn and her car and the barrier fell onto the railway track as the train was approaching.
She said she managed to get out of her car moments before it was hit by the train.
Four wheels of the train’s front carriage were derailed in the collision and 50 passengers were later transferred to another train to Bangkok.
