He was part of a group of five arrested at about 8am while trying to climb over the wall near the Rong Klua Market in Sa Kaew’s Aranyaprathet district.
Immigration police and troops spotted them getting out of a van and walking to the border wall. They failed to produce any travel documents after their arrest.
One of them, identified as Ka Sok, appeared almost cried after the arrest, police said.
He told immigration police that he and his younger brother had sneaked into the Kingdom to work in Chachoengsao province to save money for his upcoming marriage.
He said his wedding ceremony was due to start at 11am on Tuesday.
The man showed police the picture of his girlfriend in his mobile phone.
But police could not help because they said the Cambodians had violated the immigration law and posed a security threat to the Kingdom.
However, an immigration officer let Ka Sok use the officer’s smartphone to call his girlfriend.
Ka Sok was told to calm down as the process to deport him will take just one or two days.
He appeared more relieved after calling his girlfriend and being told they would soon be reunited, police said.
