One man was slightly injured and three cars were damaged at Chiang Mai’s Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep on Monday morning when a large tree battered by heavy rain fell on them.

The tree in the parking lot collapsed at about 7.30am after what residents described as heavy rain earlier in the morning.
The temple is in Mueang district’s Tambon Suthep.
Motorist Sompong Promkaew, 40, was injured when the tree fell smashed into the roof of his parked car while he was sitting inside.
A branch also broke a tap-water pipe used by the nearby community.
