Another Royal Urn attendance record on Saturday as Thais pay respects

As people from all corners of Thailand continued to visit the Grand Palace’s Dusit Maha Prasart Throne Hall to pay respects before the Royal Urn of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Saturday, visitor numbers reportedly reached the week's peak of 32,000 people at Sanam Luang.

Attendance has increased in recent days as the deadline nears. The large number of mourners on Saturday followed an announcement from the Royal Household Bureau that September 30 will be the last date for paying respects before the Royal Urn.
The beloved monarch passed away on October 13 last year. The Royal Cremation for the late king is scheduled for October 25-29.
