Police arrested four drug suspects, including a Lao man, along with four million yaba pills in Maha Sarakham province on Monday morning.

The suspects were identified as Thai nationals Sathaporn Thopbundit, 24, Pulsawt Phosu, 23, and Ritthichai Thassakhorn, 52, and Sanprasert Aiyawan, 45, from Laos. A sedan and a pick-up truck were also seized during an operation in Chiang Yeun district at 7am.
They initially faced a charge of conspiring with others to have yaba pills in their possession within intent to sell.

A police source later reported that Udon Thani police had apprehended two more suspects, along with 6,000 yaba pills, as they were fleeing in a MU-7 car.
The unnamed suspects were believed to be part of the same gang as the men arrested earlier. Police believe that their car was the leading vehicle in drug-transporting convoy that originated in Nong Khai.
It was reported that another car, also allegedly part of this convoy, was intercepted in Khon Kaen’s Phon district.
