Deputy governor Thienchai Atchariyapan led officials and the public to lay the flowers before the replica of the Royal Crematorium. The City Hall also presented an outdoor exhibition of a new theory farming demonstration field, a model of the late King’s royally-initiated irrigation project called Payang Bhumipat water tunnel in Khao Wong district, and a Nong Lerng Peuy monkey-cheek water-retention model, as well as an indoor exhibition on the late monarch’s many other works.
The mourners were handed out food and drinks by volunteers, including some 3,000 students of the Kalasin Technical College. The site was guarded by Army and police personnel as well as defence volunteers.
