A large fire swept through a laundry factory in Samut Prakan’s Bang Plee district early Friday, damaging washing machines and customers’ clothes, police said.
Ten fire engines took half an hour to put out the blaze after arriving about 4am at Alsco Textile Services Co Ltd.
The fire had already damaged the entire building, washing and drying machines as well as clothes being serviced there.
During the operation, firefighters worked to keep the blaze from reaching an oil storage tank outside the building.
There were no workers on-site when the fire broke out..
Police at the Bang Plee station suspect that the fire was started by a short circuit. Forensic science police have yet to check the scene to determine the exact cause.
