Body recovered from Phuket sea three days after suicide
The body of a man seen jumping off Sarasin Bridge in Phuket on Thursday was recovered yesterday off the Rawai shore near Koh Kaew Nok, having been carried by sea currents from the north end of the island to the south over three days.
Police believe that the man, identified as 37-year-old Winai Jokthong, drowned soon after his plunge from the bridge.
The body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital, where relatives confirmed the identity.
They had reported Winai missing last week, telling police he had had a history of mental illness.
He had left them a note on the bridge where he jumped.
