The storms battered Bang Mun Nak, Taphan Hin, Sak Lek, Wang Sai Phun, Thap Khlo, Sam Ngam and Wachirabarami districts from 7pm to 8pm, districts officials said.
Trees and billboards were brought down, blocking roads, while power poles were toppled in some areas, causing blackouts.
Officials said 41 villages in 16 tambon had been affected.
Thanabodin Setsuwan, chief of Wachirabarami district, said his district had been the hardest hit with some 300 houses in four tambon damaged.
The district was just recovering from a storm two days earlier that had damaged about 150 houses, and volunteers and troops had just finished fixing the damaged homes when the latest storm hit, he explained.
