Phang Nga’s Koh Surin National Park, 100 kilometres north of the Similans, will be closed for the wet season and open in November.

The national park’s chief, Puttapot Kuprasit, said: “The Thai Meteorological Department has today (Monday) forecast a 60 to 70 per cent chance of rain and waves of up to 3 metres in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Koh Surin.
“The park is therefore temporarily closed until November for the safety of tourists. The island is normally closed from May 16 to November 15 every year, this year though the park will reopen on November 16 before it is closed again on May 15 next year.”
