THAI cancels Manila flights due to volcano eruption

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has cancelled Bangkok-Manila flights as the Taal Volcano on Luzon Island, located to the south of Manila, erupted causing ash and smoke in both airspace and ground, the airline said on Monday (January 13).

Manila International Airport announced temporary closure from 7pm (local time, 6pm Thailand time) on January 12. As a result, the following THAI flights have been cancelled:
1 Flight TG 625 Manila-Bangkok on Sunday (January 12);
2 Flight TG 620 and TG 624 Bangkok-Manila on Monday (January 13);
3 Flight TG 621 and TG 625 Manila-Bangkok on Monday (January 13)
THAI will closely monitor the situation and return to regular operation of Bangkok-Manila flights after receiving permission from Manila International Airport, the airline said.
Passengers scheduled to travel on flights mentioned above have been advised to keep abreast of all related news and flight information via thaiairways.com website or contact THAI Contact Centre at Tel 0-2356-1111 at anytime.
The ticket change fee will be waived with terms and conditions applying for passengers holding THAI round-trip tickets on the Bangkok-Manila route dated January 12-27. Tickets can be reissued or rescheduled before January 27 by contacting THAI Sales Offices, the THAI Contact Centre at Tel 0-2356-1111 or THAI travel agents.
