The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast isolated thundershowers and gusting wind for upper Thailand as another high-pressure wave rolls over the Northeast from China and a westerly trough moves through the North starting on Sunday (February 9). 
The temperature will drop later in the coming week, it said.
Breakdown by region:
North – Isolated thunderstorms, gusting wind and hail mainly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae and Nan on Sunday and Monday, followed by a temperature drop of 3-5 degrees Celsius, with minimum 10-17C, 1-10C on mountaintops
Northeast – Scattered thundershowers in Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon and Mukdahan on Sunday and Monday, followed by a temperature drop of 3-6C with minimum 7-13C
Central and East – Temperature drop of 1-3C with cool air, minimum 18-22C, and farmers should brace for possible crop damage.
South – More rain on Sunday and Monday and heavy rain mainly in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Phatthalung, Pattani and Narathiwat, and from Sunday to Wednesday wind-blown waves 2-3 metres high in lower South, so ships should proceed with caution and small boats stay ashore.
