Hot conditions with summer storms forecast for upper Thailand

The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Friday (March 20) that a thermal low covers upper Thailand while the southerly and southeasterly winds bring humidity from the South China Sea to the Northeast, the East and the Central regions.

Meanwhile, the South gets easterly winds across the Gulf, and the westerly trough is set to blow into the North.
In upper Thailand, hot conditions cover the regions while outbreaks of summer storms are possible with thundershowers, gusts and hail in some parts of the North and the Central regions including Bangkok and its vicinity.
People have been advised to keep off unsecured buildings and outdoor installations while farmers should beware of damage to crop.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot during the day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas along with gusts and hail; temperature lows of 18-26 degrees and highs of 37-49 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas along with gusts and hail; temperature lows of 21-24 degrees and highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Hot during the day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas along with gusts; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Thundershowers in 30 per cent of the areas along with gusts; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees, highs of 30-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 21-27 degrees, highs of 32-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 35-38 degree Celsius; waves a metre high and more than a metre high offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot during the day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas along with gusts; temperature lows of 26-27 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius.
