Authorities in Pattaya are likely to lift lockdown measures on May 5 after studying the Covid-19 situation closely, while remaining cautious about a new outbreak.

Pattaya mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem said on Friday that there had been no new cases since the city enforced a strict lockdown on April 16.
On May 5, the city would have completed a three-week lockdown, considered the incubation period of Covid-19. However, there remains the possibility of another outbreak and the city is preparing preventive measures, he said.
Pattaya city imposed the first lockdown on April 9, closing five city accesses while eight checkpoints were set up during the second lockdown on April 19.
