Thundershowers forecast for all regions, with isolated heavy rains
Heavy rain is expected in the Northeast, the East and the South’s west coast, the Thailand Meteorological Department said today (May 25).
People should beware of the severe conditions. Wind will whip up 1-2-metre-high waves in the Andaman Sea and over 2 metres during thundershowers, it added, advising all ships to “proceed with caution”.
Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
Northern region: Thundershowers in 20 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 24-29 degrees and highs of 37-39 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area, with isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 25-26 degrees and highs of 34-36 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Thundershowers in 30 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 26-28 degrees, highs of 36-38 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area, with isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 25-29 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 24-25 degrees, highs of 32-34 degree Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and more than 2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Thundershowers in 30 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 26-28 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius.
