Nong Nooch offers special discounts to boost spending

The Nong Nooch Tropical Garden located near Pattaya is offering special promotions for seniors and foreigners in a bid to stimulate tourism and the economy, the garden’s director Kampol Tansajja said. Nong Nooch is believed to be the largest garden in Southeast Asia.

From July onwards, entrance fees will be waived every Monday for people aged 60 and above.

“We will also hold a special candle-making ceremony from July 4 to 7 for Buddhists to make merit to mark Asalha Puja and Buddhist Lent days. These candles will then be sent to nine temples in Chonburi province in a bid to maintain tradition and culture,” Kampol said.

Also, there will be no double pricing for foreigners, he said, adding that admission fees, bus and show tickets for foreigners will cost the same as Thais.

“The tropical garden will also offer free admission to foreign expats living in certain provinces. To be eligible, they are required to show their Thai driving licence, residency card or work permit,” he said. “These promotions aim to help stimulate tourism and the economy.”

Expats living in Ayutthaya, Singburi, Ang Thong, Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao will be granted free admission for the month of July. The promotion also applies to foreigners living in 10 districts of Bangkok, namely Bang Khen, Sai Mai, Don Muang, Laksi, Chatuchak, Bueng Kum, Bang Kapi, Lat Phrao, Wang Thong Lang and Huai Khwang.
