Thailand sending planeload of O2 concentrators to India on Saturday
Thailand will send a planeload of oxygen concentrators to India on Saturday, boosting efforts to combat a second wave of Covid-19 that has swamped the country’s medical system.
The Airbus will also pick up three Covid-infected Thai nationals in New Delhi and return them for treatment in Thailand.
India recorded another 385,000 Covid-19 cases on Friday – a new global record – along with almost 3,500 deaths. The second wave of infections has overwhelmed hospitals and crematoriums across the country, while medical oxygen is in short supply.
