Nonthaburi field hospitals capacity to be boosted by another 1,000 beds
The Ministry of Public Health plans to add more than 1,000 beds to deal with Covid-19 patients at field hospital “Bussarakham” in Nonthaburi province.
Government deputy spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek said on Saturday that 61 per cent of beds in field hospitals and "hospitels" in Bangkok, totalling 7,905, were available. This information was based on the ministry’s co-ward database on Friday.
In other parts of the country apart from the capital, total available beds in field hospitals and hospitels were 27,786, of the total 40,648 capacity.
Of the patients, 69 per cent were in severe condition.
Bussarakham field hospital was set up at Impact Muang Thong Thani and is considered the largest in Thailand.
