3,355 new Covid-19 cases and 17 deaths reported

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Monday reported 3,355 new cases and 17 deaths over a 24-hour period.

Bangkok led the list of most cases with 925, followed by Nakhon Pathom (292), Nonthaburi (232), Samut Prakan (196), Samut Sakhon (158) and Songkhla (106).

Meanwhile, 3,530 patients have recovered and been discharged in the last 24 hours.

Total 10 returnees were Thais – 9 from Cambodia and 1 from Malaysia.

As of Monday, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand had risen to 199,264.

So far, 157,944 have recovered and been discharged, 39,854 patients are still in hospitals, and 1,466 have died.

Meanwhile, another 75,128 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, while 31,754 people were given their second shot, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in Thailand to 6,188,124.

According to Worldometer, as of 11am on Monday, the number of confirmed cases globally had risen to 176.71 million (up by 300,173), 160.74 million of whom have recovered, 12.16 million are active cases (85,067 in severe condition) and 3.81 million have died (up by 6,784).

Thailand ranks 79th on the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 34.32 million, followed by India 29.50 million, Brazil 17.41 million, France 5.74 million, and Turkey 5.33 million.
