Thailand recorded 8,452 Covid-19 cases and 57 deaths on Wednesday.

Ministry of Public Health reported on Wednesday (October 27) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 8,452 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 160 of whom have been found in prisons.

Death toll increased by 57, while 8,449 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 1,875,315 – 1,758,297 of whom have recovered, 98,096 are still in hospitals and 18,922 have died.

Separately, another 371,263 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 401,747 their second shot and 38,999 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 72,049,529.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 245.29 million on Wednesday, 222.39 million of whom have recovered, 17.92 million are active cases (75,072 in severe condition) and 4.98 million have died (up by 7,535).

 

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 46.5 million, followed by India with 34.21 million, Brazil with 21.75 million, the UK with 8.85 million and Russia with 8.32 million.
