Thailand recorded 2,940 Covid-19 cases and 30 deaths on Thursday.

Ministry of Public Health reported on Thursday (December 23) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 2,940 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 53 of whom have been found in prisons.

Death toll increased by 30, while 2,798 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 2,202,001 – 2,142,186 of whom have recovered, 38,314 are still in hospitals and 21,501 have died.

Separately, another 82,409 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 166,260 their second shot and 215,068 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 101,079,615.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 277.52 million on Thursday, 248.61 million of whom have recovered, 23.52 million are active cases (89,550 in severe condition) and 5.39 million have died (up by 7,220).

 

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 52.51 million, followed by India with 34.76 million, Brazil with 22.22 million, the UK with 11.65 million and Russia with 10.29 million.
