Thailand records 2,224 Covid-19 cases and 20 deaths on Tuesday

Ministry of Public Health reported on Tuesday (June 7) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 2,224 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19 in the country.

Death toll increased by 20, while 4,824 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

Cumulative cases in the country since January 1, 2022 are at 2,247,744.
 

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 4,471,179 – 4,414,072 of whom have recovered, 26,889 are still in hospitals and 30,218 have died.

Separately, another 2,764 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 6,135 their second shot and 26,223 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 138,209,571.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 535.92 million on Tuesday, 507 million of whom have recovered, 22.61 million are active cases (36,603 in severe condition) and 6.32 million have died (up by 747).

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 86.64 million, followed by India with 43.19 million, Brazil with 31.2 million, France with 29.65 million and Germany with 26.54 million.
