The parenting expert now says she wasn’t referring to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
In her guise as @nudi_vanessa, she’d tweeted on October 17, “May I say something harsh just once. I wanna cry. I am not scared of floods but only thing I fear is a stupid leader because we will all die.”
The comment drew a wave of praise for the purveyor of chicken-essence soup, but also a soup bowl full of condemnation from those who insist Yingluck has done her best under the circumstances.
Nudi was chastised for posting a silly tweet, especially compared to the paper on neuroscience she authored while at Harvard University.
Nudi apologised for widening the rift in Thai society, but claimed she had no intention of attacking Yingluck and was tweeting out of frustration over the abrupt evacuation order for Rangsit, her home district.
“Everyone who follows me knows I stay out of politics and that I’m glad to have a female leader,” she tweeted. “My message was very emotional and aimed, rather, at the Flood Relief Operation Centre.”
So, by “stupid leader”, was she referring to Pracha Promnok or Plodprasob Surassawadee? Nudi wasn’t about to elaborate, especially with tens of millions of cubic litres of water roaring toward her house.
