However, when it comes to the government nowadays, I cannot say the same since I always see the governors aiming for what they can get more than what they can give. When they say this is for the Thai people, it is often the leftovers from the governors. They act like it’s transparent but we all know what’s behind the scenes. Moreover, with the budget that is about to be set for recovery after the flooding, I just hope that it doesn’t foreshadow the destination of that money. Corruption is bad enough, but it would be even more inhumane and soulless to corrupt when all Thais are struggling in the disaster.
In my mind, the government is a group of selfless people who dedicate themselves to the nation and people, but now it’s like the nation and people are being taken advantage of. I know it is hard to change nowadays, when people with morality are seen as foolish, but it is possible. We can start fresh and clean, put the priority on the country and citizens, stop taking sides and work together in unison. I think that’s what Thais want to see.
