Now we hear that one of the stars of one of the segments will be teen heartthrob Nichakun Horawetchakul, the Thai guy in the South Korean pop group 2PM.
Already confirmed for the cast are Cris Horwang, Jirayu “Kaow” La-ongmanee, Panisara “Opal” Pimpru and, making her acting debut, Channel 3 newsreader Sukwan Boonkul.
GTH figures everyone will want to know what the movie’s about. No, we want to know how much they’re paying Nichakun. One online rumour puts his fee at Bt50 million! Others scoff.
“For a Thai film, even Bt10 million is far too much already,” someone said on Pantip.com. An industry source noted that GTH paid Theeradej “Ken” Wongpuapan a record Bt5 million to star in “Bangkok Traffic Love Story”.
To be sure, if they give Nichakun Bt50 million, the movie is going to have to earn Mama-millions – or maybe the other cast members are kindly waiving their fees. It’s a seventh-anniversary project for GTH, after all.
Loveable idiot
Actor Mario Maurer’s loved ones marked his 21st birthday on December 4 by totally pranking the pants off him.
Manager Supacha Sirwichit seemed to have forgotten his birthday and booked Mario for a bunch of work. Then his actress-girlfriend Sumonthip “Goobgib” Lueng U-thai showed up with a job list too.
Mario called him mum. He called his pals. No one said, “Happy birthday.” He was miserable.
But the birthday boy had chores to do, and one of them later in the day was a personal appearance at a restaurant. Sure enough, there was his mother in a fancy dress, carrying a great big cake.
And his girlfriend, and his pals. Mario broke into tears – of joy, relief, whatever.
“This isn’t the first time we’ve tricked him on his birthday,” says Goobgib. “Works every time!”
