Former All Black to grace Thai 10s rugby

Former All Black to grace Thai 10s rugby

Former All Black star Caleb Ralph is one of hundreds of rugby players who will fly to Thailand this week for the Bangkok International 10s rugby tournament.

The event – exciting and fast-flowing rugby with just 10 players per team – will be staged at Bangkok Patana School on Sukhumvit Soi 105 on February 18 and 19, on the main fields opposite the school from 8am to 5pm.
In the morning, a junior international competition, hosted by DHL BLRFC, will feature teams from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
This will be closely followed by the Men’s International 10’s tournament with teams from Australia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand (including Caleb Ralph), South Africa and Thailand, including a number of veteran and “Golden Oldies” teams.
Local sports clubs will also be playing touch rugby in the midst of this busy schedule, which will involve more than 1,000 participants. Organisers said it’s free to watch the rugby action all day, and there will be activities for kids and plenty of refreshments.
The event is sponsored by BNH Hospital, Oakwood, DHL and Thai Asia Pacific Breweries. Proceeds will go towards the Nak Suu rugby programme for slum children.
