German skincare firm Eucerin wants to get photos of 111 Thai customers with lovely complexions to celebrate its 111th anniversary.
If you use Eucerin, send your photo and a short comment to www.Eucerin-Club.com/111 by the end of the month and the judges will consider it. The 111 customers they select will receive a year’s supply of their favourite Eucerin product.
Eleven top Thai photographers will take the pictures for the “Let Your Skin Do the Talking” campaign, says local director Thipaporn Unakul.
Led by Chamni Thipmanee, they are Sumet Wiwatwicha, Wasan Puengprasert, Amat Nimitpark, Nat Prakobsantisuk, Virapoj Asavajarn, Surat Jariyawattanawijit, Pansiri Sirivejapan, Tada Varich, Surasak Ittirit and Thananon Thanakornkarn.
“What makes a portrait captivating is the photographer’s ability to draw out and capture the unique characteristic of the model,” says Wasan.
“Regardless of whether the model is a top model or an ordinary person, everyone has that unique character about them that is just fascinating. This campaign will give us photographers a chance to capture that ‘special something’ in ordinary men and women, which is not something we get to do often.”
“Once we’ve decided on the 111,” adds Tada, “I’ll be able to determine exactly what I want to portray in each portrait, because everyone has his own unique character.”
The portraits will be black and white. “That’s appropriate for the celebration of such a long-established brand,” explains Pansiri, “because black and white signifies heritage, something classic.
“Working with light and shadow adds depth to the portraits and makes them more interesting.”
The 111 photos will be displayed at Thailand’s biggest exhibition of black-and-white portraits in May at CentralWorld.
