A royal gift for your home

Sakwut Wisesmanee's love for His Majesty the King suffuses his beautiful portraits of the monarch.

Numerous people said they would love to own one in particular that was on view at the “Naiya Haeng Ong Rachan” exhibition at Silapakorn University earlier this year.

Well, not everyone can own the painting and taking turns sharing it would be tricky to arrange, so Sakwut has rendered the portrait in poster form, 68x98 centimetres, utilising one of the best printing houses to ensure top quality.
“I just want to do something to express my feelings toward the King, and I’d really love to see the painting go to those who really love and respect the King as much as I do,” he says.
There are 1,000 copies available, each one signed, but they’re NOT for sale. To get one, you have to contact Sakwut directly.
Soopsip also has 10 copies to give away to our readers on a first-come-first-served basis. E-mail us at the address at the bottom of this column.

Mobile art
You don’t have to be a computer geek to design a smart gadget – or at least decorate one.
ML Chirathorn “Ajarn To” Chirapravati has just introduced his VOX Chiratorn Collection, which is 14 fancy covers for iPhones, iPads and other IT accessories to celebrate Zemash Co’s 14th anniversary.
Ajarn To came up with some signature-style illustrations based on his observations of the people around him. “It’s clear that the lifestyle of kids and adults is really involved with digital devices,” he notes.
“A phone no longer just means a device to make calls, but instead it’s used for other activities, from taking photos and videos and listening to music to receiving news updates.”
So presumably he takes photos and videos of nature’s wonders and breathtaking city life, listens to stirring concertos and keeps up to date on all the news from the art world.
“No, I only use my phone to make calls,” he grins. But what a great-looking phone!
