Very posh with Versace

Any home becomes a luxury mansion when adorned with furniture and accoutrements from the Decor Mart Design Centre, the sole authorised dealer in Thailand for Versace Home wares.

Versace Home grew out of the clothing empire founded by Gianni Versace in Milan in 1978. The fashion house expanded into five-star resorts, private jets and supercars, and then, in 1992, into household furnishings.

It specialises in neo-classic, baroque and ultra-modern styles, everything made from premium materials.

Versace Home has a small showroom on the second floor of Bangkok’s Decor Mart Design Centre with separate areas for items for the living room, dining area, bedroom and work corner. There are two themes.

“Heritage” draws inspiration from the Baroque art style, with detailed patterns and delicate structuring.

Items include an elegant desk with a smoked-glass top, a comfy Shadow leather chair and sofa, a white-gold Grid console with Greek key motif, a Medusa wall lamp coated with 24-karat gold and a curvy Hollywood desk.

The “Design” line is modern in shades of black, white, gold and silver. The Asteroid sofa has five pillows made from genuine leather, and the Eclipse coffee table boasts a tinted glass top and sinuous chromium legs.

There’s also the Greca collection – a beautiful black queen-size bed, a bedside table, a black-and-white Logo sofa, the Queen chandelier of Swarovski crystals, a ceramic table lamp and a chic black Tronco di Piramid Stonelite lamp.

Versace ware extends to |glassware, ceramic plates, teacups, heavy silver cutlery and colourfully printed textiles. A |catalogue is available if you can’t quite find exactly what you need in the store.
