Check out this coming Sunday’s unpredictable episode, in which Woody Militajinda emcees an improvised “Jan Dara Game” with the cast of the movie remake that’s just hit cinemas.
The main “rule” for Bongkot “Tak” Kongmalai, Ratha “Ying” Pho-ngarm, Mario Maurer, Savika “Pinky” Chaiyadech and Chaiyapol “New” Puprart is that questions have to be answered frankly. And Ying’s head-spinning question to Tak is, “So, we still love each other?”
We know they are indeed friends as well as co-stars of “Jan Dara”, and Ying is the star of the first movie that Tak is directing. But evidently they’ve had several misunderstandings while chatting via the Line app, plus Tak’s got a bigger role in “Jan Dara”.
“I just want you to know that I may be straightforward,” Ying says on the show, “but I’m not malicious and I don’t try to hurt anyone. Maybe I just throw my tantrums onto you.” Regardless, she says, she’s still Tak’s friend and truly cares about her.
Given the advance leak of the episode, speculation is rife that this is all just a promotional stunt for the film. A Sahamongkol Film spokesperson denies it, though. Judge for yourself on Sunday.
Pure gold
Having earned praise for giving Bt31.5 million to our Olympic heroes, bottled-tea tycoon Tan passakornnatee came under criticism when he announced there would be no such cash reward for our Paralympics medallists.
The Ichitan boss said the public shouldn’t expect him to reward athletes every time they do well. “I can’t make merit at every temple,” he said. “I’m still my family’s breadwinner and the head of my company and I have to take care of my foundation too.”
The griping subsided, but then Tan changed his mind and said he’d give Bt1 million to every Paralympic gold medallist, Bt500,000 for every silver and Bt300,000 for a bronze – out of his own pocket. Faith in the rich is restored.
