I stand in awe of the Dutch and their engineering marvels of flood management, and I assume that my suggestions were and are right in line with Dutch thinking. Please, anyone, tell me if I am wrong on that.
This is to clarify one of my statements: straightening the Chao Phraya River, as I have said before, would involve less than two kilometres of construction just west of the port at Klong Toei. That is where the river doubles back on itself, and that restricts the flow of water.
If any engineers take issue with any of my previous statements or suggestions, then I would highly encourage those engineers to say so in The Nation.
