Where are truth and credibility?

Mahatma Gandhi said, "There are seven things that will destroy us: wealth without work; pleasure without conscience; knowledge without character; religion without sacrifice; politics without principle; science without humanity; business without ethics."

Crudibility is like virginity – once you’ve lost it, you can never get it back. A liar needs a good memory, but getting caught when being lied to is not easily forgotten. If you put something over on somebody, it will come back to haunt you. Beware of elected officials who fake sincerity and make excuses to condone lies and partial truths. Deception will most likely fall into the public gullibility gap and credibility chasm.
Credibility is defined as the quality of being believable or worthy of inspiring trust. Once lost, it takes enormous effort to win it back. If the polished veneer is exposed, the sheen quickly wears off. Trust is rebuilt by not focusing on what somebody else did or didn’t do, or on iffy promises, but on real-life deeds. Reputation and integrity are everything. Pragmatic positive attitudes and legitimate ways of being constructive rather than destructive should be golden rules of thumb.
