Two top polo teams battle it out for glory
Celebrities turned out in force to the lush green of VR Sport Club in Bang Bo, Samut Prakan to watch the teams of King Power and Singha battle in out in the semi-finals of the eighth Thailand Polo King’s Cup 2013.
Presiding over the event was Privy Councillor, Chief Air Marshal, Kamthon Sindavananda. Both club and spectators were dressed up to match the tournament’s 1920’s Art Deco theme.
Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, president of Thailand Polo Association, reminded guests that the association had been conducting the matches since January 22, with four teams competing, namely Le Ambassador Club, Siam Commercial Bank, Singha, and King Power. The objective of the tournament, he added, was create awareness of polo both locally and internationally, and to encourage Thai sportsmen to fully participate at the international level.
VIPs and celebrities applauding eacg chukka included Krissada Pornveroj, Varattaya Nilkuooha, Vorarit Feunga-rom, Noey and Jam from Neko Jump, Anshisa Leowpirat, Pattarin Jiensook, Krittika Sing and Benjasiri Wattana.
Looking particularly smart in true art deco style were MR Junrungsee Yukol, ML Varapa Chumpol, Saranpak Penchart and Jutuporn Techapaiboon,
The Singha team put up a good fight but their King Power adversaries beat them.
