Siam Music Yamaha inaugurates a brand new fair that brings together the best instruments and systems from around the world

Music lovers recently got to enjoy a full range of musical instruments and sound systems during the “I Play Yamaha 2013” fair hosted by Siam Music Yamaha at Siam Paragon. The event offered sound system innovations and the latest high-tech music gizmos at special prices, along with performances by a number of renowned musicians, among them drummer and songwriter Zak Bon from the US. Guitarist and composer, Alex Hutchings, who wrote the music for “Big Brother” and “Brainiac” in the UK also jetted in to show off his guitar talents. Local performers included Thammarat Duangsiri, winner of Guitar Idol 2009, Kavin Inthawong, Pakpoom Watwiangkam, Veerachat Premanont and Wisuwat Prueksawanit.

The fair also featured the “Piano Festival 2013” at the shopping centre’s Fashion Hall, with special performances from Tor Saksit and Mac Weeradon from Academy Fantasia’s sixth season.
Pranapda Phornprapha, executive director of Siam Music Yamaha, said the idea for the fair rose out of the success of “Musikmesse”, one of the world’s largest music fairs, which is held every April in Frankfurt, Germany. She felt that Thailand should have a similar music event so the company came up with the inaugural “I Play Yamaha 2013”.
The fair brought together the best musical instruments in the world from every brand; ranging from acoustic and electric guitars, drums, amplifiers, digital keyboard, acoustic and digital pianos, all kinds of brass and percussion instruments, sound equipment and digital sound systems.
