So there is a 560-page report from a US task force (the Constitution Project) that does not answer any pertinent questions about US torture in Thailand, but is anyone surprised?
The US, once again, has thumbed its nose at Thailand, and par for the course. Americans think that they have owned Thailand since the war in Vietnam; Brits, Australians and Canadians are puppy allies of the US, so they think they’re part owners of Thailand.
There are only so many ways to carve up a pie, so that leaves Thais with what’s left – the crumbs.
If we recall how some Thais knelt down and bowed their heads to the US in the Viktor Bout affair, then we can see why some Americans and their minions believe they’re in charge.
Jesus said: “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16)
Please, Southeast Asians, do not forget the “midst of wolves” and “wise as serpents” parts.
