Does dharma also cover pimpin'?

Taiwan's Next Media Animation (NMAtv) is treating YouTube viewers to a cartoon depicting jet-setting Thai monk Luangpu Nen Kham Chattiko and his two robed hench-monks frolicking through life in ways that would have had even the Lord Buddha cursing.

But is “Thai Buddhist monks in private jet are big pimpin” just nasty fiction? The animators’ source was another YouTube video, plus a slew of photos being shared online, allegedly showing the senior monk lying in bed next to a clothed-for-now young woman, boarding said private jet and toting a Louis Vuitton handbag.
NMAtv uploaded its two-minute cartoon “satire” on Wednesday and invited comments as to whether the monks’ behaviour was “appropriate”. With 5,500 views and counting, the comments have run the gamut, from “What a lie!” to angry condemnation of the monks for degrading Buddhism.
Thai authorities are waiting to quiz Luangpu Nen when he returns from his latest overseas trip next week, but Thai citizens seem largely agreed that he and his pals are apt to be disrobed quicker than a stripper at a bachelor party.

By now all fans of singer-songwriter Apiwat “Stamp” Eurthavornsuk own a pair of the special-edition Wrangler X Stamp jeans that he designed for the Central Marketing Group.
It’s funny having his nickname on people’s butts, but it’s a great name – fashionable and even descriptive of his style of music, not to mention denims. The fact is, though, that Stamp once considered changing his moniker.
“My mum was travelling a lot on business while she was pregnant and thought of me as the ‘stamp’ that travelled around with her all the time,” he says. It’s a sweet story, he knows, but the name was no blessing by the time he reached his teens. He took some teasing. Kids called him Sam or Sa-Taam in a high-pitched voice. People asked if he was gay.
One day he started calling himself Ton. Everybody else just kept calling him Stamp. Now he’s grateful, and so is Wrangler.
