Everyone’s still buzzing about the 2012 bashes where the sailors shook off the saltwater and soaked up the grog, and Kasemkit’s Tirawan “Waew” Pangsrivongse promises nightly fun Wednesday through Sunday next week.
Her plans must be intriguing because she’s even convinced her father, Kasemkit owner Tirapongse, to enter a boat in the regatta. Add one more task to Waew’s job list, then – cheerleader for the old man. We join her in hoping he snags a trophy.
Chin up, James
Fame for an actor in Thailand seems to rise proportionately with rumours that he’s gay. Atichat “Aum” Chumnanon and Phupoom “Ken” Pongpana have been down the rainbow road before, and now it’s James Ma’s turn. The rising star of hit TV series “Suparbburut Chuthathep” is being pelted with showers of gay-or-not questions wherever he goes.
Most recently it was a promotion for EA Sports “Fifa Online 3”. Getting a bit sneaky, reporters asked him if it was true that his TV co-star, Chalida “Mint” vijitvongthanong, was the one spreading the rumour. James said he didn’t think so. “I’ve worked with her for nine months,” he said. “I doubt she has any reason to say such a thing.”
Well, does this new rumour – that Mint is spreading the old rumour – bother him? “I just talked to her, but I’ve never talked to her about the rumour,” James tried. And anyway, “I don’t have to prove a point, because in the long run, people know I’m straight, not gay.”
Just to demonstrate how famous James has become, there’s also gossip going around that he had plastic surgery on his chin in South Korea. He denied that too, though, and pointed out that his chin has an odd but very natural angle to it.
Regardless, these are all classic rumours, reserved only for the hottest celebrities. James, you have arrived!
