Raonic to play in Hua Hin

World No 7 Milos Raonic is the second player in the top 10 to confirm his participation in the Hua Hin tennis exhibition during the New Year break.

Thai tennis chief Suwat Liptapanlop said the Canadian, also known as Missile Milos because of his explosive serves that surpassed 250 kilometre per hour on the radar gun, will join world No 5 Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic in the six-man tennis event.
The friendly tournament will be staged in place of the ATP tournament in Bangkok, which was moved to Shenzhen owing to poor turnout in Thailand. Raonic won the title last year by upsetting Berdych in the final.
“We are very lucky to have two top-10 players in the tournament, which also serves as a New Year present for Thai fans. It’s coincidental that both played the Thailand Open final last year,” said Suwat.
Only top-20 players will be invited to compete in the event, which is due to be held at the Hua Hin Centennial Park during New Year.
