I agree that the government, together with Education Ministry officials, should seriously study the “Smart Classroom” proposal for interactive computerised equipment to replace the normal chalkboard school rooms that we have – at a cost of around B250,000 per classroom.
This project will help ensure fairness and equality in education for our country’s students. It will enable rural children to have the same opportunities – by studying in the same environment; and with the same equipment – as those living in big cities.
Classrooms across the country will also have a chance to interact and exchange knowledge and study methods.
There will likely be a tremendous improvement in the overall educational situation in Thailand within a few years if this project gets off the ground. This strategic proposal will also cost less, and will be more sensible, than the Yingluck Shinawatra government’s “One (computer) Tablet Per Child” scheme.
